Simple Steps for Optimal Results
EXOv5 can be used as a standalone coating or as a top layer over Gtechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer or Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light (CSL) – we advise using C1 or CSL as a base coat for paints that are easily marked and dark in color.
When applying over C1, ensure EXOv5 is put on at least 4 hours, but no more than 12 hours, after completing the C1 application.
For application over CSL, EXOv5 should be applied at least 1 hour after CSL application.
Make sure your vehicle is not in direct sunlight but is warmer than 5 degrees Celsius, completely dry, and will remain dry for a minimum of 12 hours after application.
Clean all surfaces using Gtechniq Panel Wipe and a Gtechniq MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth (apply the Panel Wipe to the cloth, not directly on the panel) – this step is unnecessary if you’re applying over freshly applied C1 or CSL.
Shake the bottle thoroughly and wear gloves.
Consistently prime the AP2 Ultra Soft Foam Filled Applicator with an adequate amount of product to saturate the pad.
Use the applicator provided in overlapping strokes on an area of approximately 2ft by 2ft (60cm x 60cm). After applying to a panel, wait for 1 to 2 minutes and then buff with an MF1, followed by a second MF1 to eliminate any smudges, leaving the surface smooth. Only one layer of product is necessary.
Allow the coating to cure for at least 12 hours before it is exposed to moisture.
After application, we suggest refraining from washing the car for at least 7 days.
