3D BDX effectively removes brake dust from your car’s wheels. It also works as a comprehensive chemical contamination remover for the exterior painted surfaces of your vehicle.

What is it? - 3D BDX is a spray-on solution designed to chemically break down and eliminate a wide range of chemical contaminants from your car's exterior, including wheels, body panels, and other outer surfaces. This product is specially developed to be safe for modern clearcoat finishes and all types of wheels: painted, chrome, polished, and coated aluminum. 3D BDX is Acid-Free, pH-balanced, VOC-compliant, environmentally friendly, and biodegradable, making it an eco-conscious detailing product for cars.
Color Change Effect - When contamination is present on the wheels or painted body panels, a chemical reaction occurs when 3D BDX works to dissolve it. Visually, the process is indicated by the 3D BDX (along with the dissolved contaminants) turning a dark, purple-red hue. This indicates that contamination is indeed present. The positive aspect is that by breaking down the contaminants, which can then be rinsed away with water, you prevent any corrosion from occurring on your car's wheel finish or paint. Given the delicate nature of modern car paints, maintaining them free from contaminants is crucial. Once you've washed the car, you can proceed to the next step with confidence, knowing your wheels and paint are clear of chemical contamination.

What if I don’t observe any color change effect? - After applying it to your car's wheels or body panels, if you don’t notice any color change on the surface, this is actually great news. It signifies that there is no contamination and, more crucially, that no corrosion has occurred on the finish of your car's wheels or exterior paint. Believe it or not, even though the color-changing effect is appealing, also known as the bleeding effect, it is actually better for your wheels and paint not to see any color change at all. Now you can confidently move forward, knowing your vehicle's wheels and paint are clean and free from chemical contaminants.
What does it do? - After application on a surface, it targets and dissolves a broad range of chemical contaminants so they can be washed and/or rinsed off the wheels and/or body panels of your vehicle, including:

 1. Brake Dust

 2. Iron Contamination

 3. Traffic Pollution

 4. Industrial Fallout

 5. Road Film

When should you use it? - For cleaning brake dust from your car’s wheels and for decontaminating the body panels making up the exterior of your car.
Wheels - Apply 3D BDX every time you wash your car. Each time you brake, the heat generated from the friction between brake pads and rotors creates brake dust due to wear. This brake dust accumulates on your car's wheels. It's common to use a brake dust remover every time you wash your car, regardless of the washing method employed.

Body Panels - For your car's exterior - Washing your car typically falls into two categories: Prep Wash and Maintenance Wash. Typically, you use 3D BDX during a Prep Wash and skip this step for body panels during a Maintenance Wash.

What’s the distinction between a Prep Wash and a Maintenance Wash? - Great question, thank you for asking.

Prep Wash - This is the cleaning process for a neglected vehicle aimed at achieving a pristine condition prior to any paint correction procedures. Paint correction may involve procedures such as,
• Mechanical decontamination using detailing clay, the 3D Nano Pad, or 3D Nano Prep Towels.

 • Dedicated compounding and polishing procedures with 3D compounds and polishes

 • Executing one-step paint correction utilizing products like 3D SPEED.

During any paint correction, any substances on the surface of the painted body panels will be abraded away, including conventional car waxes, synthetic paint sealants, and ceramic coatings. Therefore, it is advisable to utilize 3D BDX for a Prep Wash.

Maintenance Wash - A maintenance wash is designed for cars that are already detailed, in excellent condition, and regularly cared for. Therefore, there's limited necessity for intense cleaning techniques or products like iron removers or chemical decontamination sprays. In fact, the goal of a Maintenance Wash is to be as gentle and NON-invasive as possible to avoid marring the paint surface and to preserve whichever protective coating is used to seal the paint, whether it be a ceramic coating, car wax, or synthetic paint sealant.
Body Panels - During a maintenance wash, the choice of LSP or Last Step Product applied to the painted body panels is a crucial factor in determining whether or not to use 3D BDX.

Cars with Ceramic Coatings - A properly applied quality ceramic coating is chemical resistant, substantially more so than conventional car waxes or synthetic paint sealants. Therefore, if you need to check for or confirm the absence of iron or chemical contamination on your car's finish, it's completely fine to apply 3D BDX on a ceramic-coated vehicle, as the ingredients will not compromise the coating.

Cars with Conventional Car Waxes or Synthetic Paint Sealants - The drawback of using conventional waxes and synthetic paint sealants is their reduced chemical resistance compared to ceramic coatings. Thus, using iron removers and chemical contamination sprays may prematurely strip these types of sacrificial protective coatings. It’s a common occurrence. So as a general rule, it is advisable not to use iron removers during a maintenance wash on cars protected with waxes or synthetic seals.

Why choose 3D BDX over alternative products? - Most iron removers are specifically formulated with the primary purpose of eliminating iron or, in scientific terminology, Fe or ferrum, which is Latin for iron.

3D BDX is a more sophisticated formulation. It is designed to safely dissolve and eliminate all variations of iron contamination, encompassing brake dust and dissolved iron found in our water supplies, both municipal and well water. However, 3D BDX also effectively removes other prevalent forms of chemical contamination on vehicles, such as brake dust, iron contamination, traffic pollutants, industrial fallout, and greasy road film.
